In the "ROAD TO ELITE" you will get lessons from the best coaches.
Time of the camp: 27-th of Ma – 24-th of July 2018. Sportsmen of 2012 year of birth and older are invited to the camp.

“Red Star” Hockey club announces the enrolment to the summer sport skills improvement training camp “ROAD TO ELITE -2018”, which is going to be held at the newest sport complex (has been open in December 2017) in the town of Leppavirta , Finland.
Picturesque nature of Finland, modern sport facilities including ice rink, soccer fields in the open air and in a pavilion, a gym for games-based sports, a gym with fitness machines, a squash center, tennis lawns, an acrobatic gym, a trampoline center and other sport infrastructure, comfortable accommodation, proper sport nutrition and traditional Scandinavian hospitality will make your sport summer busy and efficient.
This year kids from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Czech Republic, USA, China and other countries will come to our camp for the first time. This means that the kids will make new friends and will have exciting rivalry in variety of sport games, which will be traditionally held in the frames of our educational program. Age groups
There will be 4 age groups of sportsmen in each training session:
Penguins (Yellow) group – kids of 2010-2012 years of birth. (Sportsmen of 2012 year of birth are accepted to the camp only with adults).
Capitals (White) group – kids of 2007-2009 years of birth.
Canadians (Red) group – kids of 2004-2006 years of birth.
Lightnings (Blue) group – teens of 2003 year of birth and older.
Each group (around 25 players) will be divided to 4 subgroups according to the skills. Total number of coaches in a group – 4.
Each group will also be supervised by a tutor, who is going to organize the kids’ free time, be in charge of routine questions and in charge of discipline during the nap and night sleep.

All participants should have medical certificate from a pediatrician and an international medical insurance! If the child is allergic to any food, plants, swimming pool chemicals or others, please, note it in the questionnaire in the field “allergy”.
Everyone who is willing to join our camp, but have no Shengen visa can get help from the organizers. Please, write us for the camp invitation from Finnish Hockey Federation. In case of necessity, please, mark it in the questionnaire in the field “visa support”.
Outfit for the sportsmen in the camp:
Every sportsmen in the camp “ROAD TO ELITE ” should have hockey outfit, a stick for workouts practice on the ice, a stick for workouts practice in a gym (3-5 cm cut), a stick for floorball (if any), 2 sets of underwear (to put on under the hockey uniform), 2 sport suits, a “wind” jacket, socks, underpants, T-shirts, everyday shoes, trainers, snickers for running and gym workouts, hobnailed boots (small fixed studs), swimming suit, swimming pool slippers, swimming pool towel, hygiene items.
Educational focus
1. Skating mastering technique – (sport facilities) – hockey ground with artificial ice (60 Õ 30); POWERSKATER machines; POWERINGATHLETICS equipment; (practice tools) – skating technique workouts (smooth running, manoeuvring, extensional skating, curves, changeovers, etc.); individual tactics of game in attack; individual tactics of game in defense, group and team game;
2. Stick mastering technique – (sport facilities) artificial ice hockey ground, shooting zone with synthetic coating; HOCKEY SHOT TRAINER; opposing systems SHOT SLING; TAPE PASSER; SPEED SLING; rival imitator and other equipment for mastering playing skills. (practice tools) – puck control, dribbling, stickhandling, pass hold and delivery, mastering all shot types.
3. "Balance and Stability" program - (sport facilities) - main qualities mastering program – mastering agilities, coordination, balance, stability, decision making speed. (Bosu balance, balance board, water bag, work on unstable platform)
4. Strength and speed-strength workout – (sport facilities) – for yellow, white and red groups - PoweringAthletics loading systems with the effect of resistance overcoming. For the eldest group – free weights, plate load machines, PoweringAthletics loading systems with the effect of resistance overcoming.
5. Cardio training - (sport facilities) – all-round work using POWERINGATHLETICS equipment. Special functional focused cardio zone.
6. Plyometric workouts (for red and blue groups) - (sport facilities) - Jump box, Plyo Maxed, Russian box, "plyo"- zone.
7. Conditioning – gaining a high level of physical efficiency, mastering physical skills, aimed to all-round and balanced physical development of the sportsman. Improving functional abilities, all-round efficiency, creating a foundation for gaining high sport results.
8. Special physical training (sport facilities) – kinetic skills mastering, game skills and qualities development. Unstable platform workouts of all levels of difficulty, work with moving loads on special PoweringAthletics equipment and on the ice. Side vision and “eyes-arms-legs” coordination development. All-round workout on a special obstacle course.
9. Functional workout and endurance development (white, red, blue groups) – (sport facilities) – methodological training facilities with WOODWAY, MATRIX, POWERING ATHLETICS equipment.
10. Development of operational-tactical thinking – (sport facilities) – game exercises from specialized and non-major kinds of sport. Workout in a limited space and time for decision-making.
11. Hockey tactics and theory, video analysis of game situations – the lessons are held in specially equipped classrooms for watching and video analysis of the game moments.
12. Spoken English – lessons with teachers and native speakers.

Price for the camp includes the training process, accommodation, meals, training T-shirt for workouts on ice, training suit (shorts and a T-shirt) for workouts off the ice, a cap for workouts in the open air and drinking water for all trainings and accommodation.
For the uniform laundry, please provide a special mesh bag for every child. Laundry cost is 2 Euro per “bag” and it is paid separately. Laundry in the hotel is paid according to the prices of the hotel and is done according to the hotel regulations.
Free time and entertainment program:
In spite of the fact that the international training camp “ROAD TO ELITE” is a sport camp, we also provide active rest and switching from the active working program for the kids and their parents. One of the kinds of the rest is water park Mikkeli with water slides and attractions.
The active rest also includes bike excursions along the forest paths of the land of lakes, bike tours and walks in quiet Leppavirta.
If you decide to visit the camp with the whole family you will not have problems with younger kids and how to entertain them. Kids entertainment center for all age groups works in the camp. Sport grounds for the youngest and a roller rink is available for kids and grown-ups.
Acrobatic gym and a trampoline center will be used in the training program of the camp and will also become a great opportunity for the active rest for kids and grown-ups.
Fishing in Leppavirta can become a real adventure for lovers of this active rest. Several Euros for the license and there is no limit for your opportunities. Trout, salmon, pike, chub and other kinds of river and lake fish will make any fish soup unforgettable!
Well, after fishing you can cook the catch. Finnish people have a real tradition of cooking. Famous Finnish fireplaces where any food is cooked in the open fire will give your food a special Skandinavian scent.
After delicious meals you can always have a rest in a cozy cottage on the bank of a lake. Leaves murmur and water noise will give you a real peace.
Golf will be one more active entertainment awaiting you in Leppavirta. Professional field, equipment and instructor rent will let you join in this exciting sport. And of course all the activity is done in one of the most picturesque places of Leppavirta.
